With lockdown restrictions tightening once again, it is time for Body Smarts to update our Coronavirus Statement. With all the information coming in drips and drabs, a new Coronavirus Statement page has been created in order to keep all the information in one place.
Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) have released an updated statement:
… However, from 8 August, the government has stated that it will become mandatory in England for members of the public to wear a face covering in “nail, beauty and hair salons”, as well as for massage services. For further clarification, we contacted the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and wereadvised that clients will also need to wear a face covering within a private treatment context, where complimentary, beauty and sports treatments are given on a one-to-one basis, even if other people are not present.
If clients are unable to wear a face covering, eg. for health reasons or because it restricts their breathing when lying face down, this must be covered in the risk assessment and other mitigation’s put in place to reduce cross-infection. As a result of this latest update, Body Smarts must now insist upon all clients wearing a face covering at all times throughout their appointment. This includes all time within the presence of Jezz, including time off the massage table as well as on it.
No more than 24 hours before your appointment, you will be asked to confirm that you or anyone you’ve been in contact with within the last 14 days are not showing signs of COVID-19. You will not incur any cancellation fees. You will also be asked to complete a quick form to confirm the information given, this form can be found here.
